  • What is holistic fertility coaching and how can it help me?
Holistic Fertility Coaching at Wild Your Womb is a comprehensive approach to fertility that encompasses both physical and emotional wellbeing. It's tailored to support women who are trying to conceive, as well as those looking to use natural methods for birth control. Here's how it can help you: Personalized Care and Understanding: Holistic fertility coaching focuses on you as a whole person, not just your reproductive system. By considering all aspects of your life and health, we create a personalized plan that aligns with your unique body and fertility goals. Functional Lab Testing: We use advanced lab testing to uncover any underlying health issues that might be affecting your fertility. This can include hormone testing, glucose mointoring, and more, providing detailed insight into your health and helping us customize our approach specifically to you. Fertility Awareness Method (FAM): Our coaching educates and empowers you to understand and track your menstrual cycle using FAM. This method helps you identify your fertile window for conception or natural birth control, enhancing your understanding and control over your fertility. Somatic and Energy Practices: We incorporate somatic (body-based) and energy practices to address fertility from an energetic and emotional perspective. These practices can help in reducing stress, balancing hormones, and creating a positive and receptive state of mind and body for conception. Lifestyle Guidance: We offer advice on diet, exercise, stress management, and other lifestyle factors that play a crucial role in fertility. This holistic approach ensures that all areas of your life are conducive to achieving your fertility goals. Emotional and Mental Support: Fertility journeys can be emotionally challenging. Our coaching provides a supportive and understanding environment where you can share your experiences and emotions, helping you to maintain a positive and hopeful mindset. Holistic fertility coaching at Wild Your Womb is a multifaceted approach that not only addresses your physical health but also supports your emotional and mental wellbeing, offering a comprehensive path to fertility and overall health.
  • What is the Fertility Awareness Method?
The Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is a natural, biology-backed approach to family planning and reproductive health that involves tracking individual fertility biomarkers including cervical mucus, basal body temperature (BBT), and cervical position to identify fertile and non-fertile phases of the menstrual cycle. It provides an intimate glimpse of a woman’s unique reproductive (and overall) health, supporting both pregnancy prevention and conception.
  • How does the Fertility Awareness Method help women trying to conceive (TTC)?
The symptothermal Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) gives you a comprehensive picture of your fertility by charting cervical mucus, basal body temperature (BBT) and cervical position changes throughout your menstrual cycle. For example, as your cycle progresses, your cervical mucus changes in consistency and amount. It becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy around ovulation, creating an environment where sperm thrive. By tracking your BBT daily, you'll notice a subtle rise after ovulation, indicating your fertile window has passed. During fertile days, your cervix rises and becomes softer, making it easier for sperm to swim towards the awaiting egg. Tracking these fertility biomarkers through FAM can help you identify health issues that may be hindering fertility, appropriately time intercourse, and optimize your chance of conception.
  • How does the Fertility Awareness Method work as a form of birth control?
The Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) can be an effective form of natural birth control when used correctly. It involves tracking your menstrual cycle to determine when you are fertile. During your cycle, you'll observe and chart changes in your cervical mucus and basal body temperature (BBT). Before and during ovulation, your cervical mucus becomes more abundant. By avoiding intercourse or using protection during these days, you can prevent pregnancy. Your BBT also plays a crucial role. After ovulation, there is a slight but noticeable increase in BBT. By charting this temperature daily, you can discern the pattern of your cycle and precisely identify your ovulation. Since the fertile window is typically a few days before and after ovulation, knowing this period is key to avoiding pregnancy. FAM requires consistent daily tracking and a deep understanding of your cycle. When practiced diligently, it can be a reliable method for natural birth control. However, it's important to note that FAM does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and requires discipline and regular monitoring for effectiveness. When used correctly and consistently, the effectiveness rates of the FAM for preventing pregnancy can be quite high, with studies showing a success rate of up to 99.4%.
  • What are somatic practices and how do they support fertility?
Somatic practices are body-centered methods that focus on the connection between the mind and body. In the context of fertility, these practices are particularly beneficial as they help to create a harmonious balance within the body, which can be essential for reproductive health. Here's how somatic practices support fertility: Stress Reduction: Somatic practices are effective in reducing stress and anxiety, which are known factors that can negatively impact fertility. Techniques such as mindful movement, breathing exercises, and body awareness work help to calm the nervous system, reducing the body's stress response which is crucial for hormonal balance. Enhancing Body Awareness: These practices increase your awareness of bodily sensations and feelings. This heightened awareness can be particularly useful in recognizing and understanding the body's fertility signals, such as changes in cervical mucus or subtle shifts in basal body temperature. Emotional Release and Processing: Somatic practices provide a safe space for the release and processing of emotions. Fertility journeys can be emotionally taxing, and carrying emotional tension can impact physical health. By working through these emotions in a somatic way, you can reduce emotional blockages that might be affecting your fertility. Hormonal Balance: Many somatic exercises, especially those that incorporate gentle, mindful movements, can help in balancing hormones. By reducing cortisol (the stress hormone) levels and promoting the release of endorphins (feel-good hormones), these practices can create a more conducive environment for conception. Improving Circulation and Physical Health: Somatic practices often involve physical movement that can improve circulation and overall physical health. Better blood flow ensures that reproductive organs receive a healthy supply of blood, which is essential for reproductive functions. Connecting with the Body's Rhythms: Engaging in somatic practices helps in syncing with the body's natural rhythms. Understanding and honoring these rhythms can enhance fertility awareness and empower you in your fertility journey. Somatic practices in fertility coaching are a powerful tool for enhancing fertility. They offer a holistic approach to improving not just physical health but also emotional and mental wellbeing, making them an integral part of a holistic fertility journey.
